Redundancy: The First Cut Is The Deepest

Redundancy

Being let go for whatever reason is one of the hardest personal issues to deal with and a common cause of employment law claims.  If you have been chosen for redundancy or are in the process of being selected for redundancy you need to carefully consider how to get the most out of it.

Your first steps will obviously be to sound out the jobs market and seek a new position.  It isn't necessarily a good thing to send out your CV to too many agencies: chose one or two tried and trusted professional placement agents and take their advice.

However, it may take some time to get your next job, so you should take a close look at the redundancy offer your current firm is making.
