Suspensions And Investigations

Employment law allows an employee to be suspended in appropriate circumstances.  Where there is a serious allegation you may find you are suspended pending an investigation, although you should receive your normal pay.  If the suspension is for an excessive period of time or you are suspended without pay, then you probably need specialized employment law advice and should call us.

It may be the case that you are called to an investigatory meeting held by the employer before taking disciplinary action.  You should prepare for the investigatory meeting in the same way you would prepare for a disciplinary meeting but remember you do not have a right to be accompanied by a union representative or colleague although your employer may allow you to do so.
